(Somewhat) Wordless Wednesday

Les has been at a work conference in Miami this week (he comes home tonight - yay!)  I took a picture of my coffee mug this morning to send to him:

I was trying to figure out why it was so pink.  Then I looked out the window...

(Somewhat) Wordless Wednesday

 

Les and Lance will be hiking the Grand Canyon three weeks from today.  I have been training with Les and he is doing amazing!  Yesterday was his longest training hike - 20 miles!  The trail was 10 miles one way and we had parked a car at each trailhead.  I did the first 10 miles with him, then after he refilled his Camelbak, he turned around for 10 more and I headed home.

Because Les had meetings that started at 11:00, we were up a little before 3:30 and on the trail by 4:30.  It was completely dark for more than an hour, but our lights did a fantastic job.  We were at the highest point of the trail when we started seeing the sunrise.

We were in Hawaii for almost two weeks, I'll share more details tomorrow, but here are some of the pictures I took:

 

 

Big Sky Saturday

I was up early this morning and headed out for a bike ride.  The roads were mostly empty and I enjoyed a little over 15 miles.  I rode in the Big Sky neighborhood and when I came to the top of a hill with about five miles to go I had a beautiful view of the sunrise.  I almost never stop to take a picture when I'm on my bike, but I made an exception today.  

 

God is always the best Artist, whether it's painting the sky or painting our lives!

Tuesday Sky

Our sky has been so amazing lately.  I headed out for a run this morning and hadn't gone more than a few minutes before I had to stop:

Most of the time once the sun starts coming up there isn't much to see, but today was a different story.  A couple miles later, I took these:

There won't be any snowman building in this meadow, but I sure do love our green hills!

Wordless Wednesday ~ Sunrise Edition

(Mostly) Wordless Wednesday

We arrived home from Georgia on Monday, July 29th.  We were home long enough to catch our breath, do laundry and pack again!  We headed back to Hawaii on Sunday, August 4th.  This was another extended trip - we came home last Thursday, August 29th.  This was an unusual trip for us.  After one week on the island, Les headed back to California.  He had a conference in San Diego so he was gone for most of the second week.  I stayed in Hawaii the entire time.

People often ask if we get tired of traveling to Hawaii. The actual travel part gets tiring, but once we're there the beauty of the island and the many friends we have make Hawaii feel like home.
