Legendary New York Yankees catcher, Yogi Berra, passed away yesterday at the age of 90. This was 69 years to the day from his debut as a Major League Baseball player.
He is known for his one of a kind wit. USA Today had the 50 greatest Yogi Berra quotes. Berra-isms (colloquial expressions that lack logic) are now countless, and many of them are just attributed to Berra, even if he never actually said them. There is plenty to read about Yogi's baseball career, but I think the most outstanding stat in his life was his 65 year marriage to Carmen. They met while she was working as a waitress at Biggie's Steakhouse in St. Louis. "Whenever he was in the area, he would frequently return with his good friend, Joe Gargiola, just so he could see her. But they were poor and couldn’t afford steaks every time, so sometimes they just ordered water."
