Wordless Wednesday ~ Sunset Edition

There was a pink glow coming in our window a little while ago.  I stepped out and captured this:

I miss the beautiful sunsets in Hawaii, but this was spectacular!

Wordless Wednesday

We've been in Hawaii for the entire month of April.  We have had major internet issues, including needing to have the router replaced, so blogging has fallen to the wayside.  That hasn't stopped me from taking pictures.  Enjoy!

The view from our condo.  Mountains one way...

And a peak of blue the other way...

A visit to the Honolulu Zoo:

So much beauty!

Breakfast with my favorite human being!

Honolulu Coffee Company, they roast the beans in the restaurant!

Resurrection Sunrise Service at the Park

Service with the Samoan congregation

God does sunsets right!

Ready for Your Close-Up

Cast the movie of your life.

I'm pretty sure there will never be a movie about my life!  I love my life and don't want to trade with anyone, but there's not enough drama for it to be a movie.   It would definitely include lots of adventures and laughs with my favorite person...

This writing prompt did remind me of a friend in high school who said that I looked like Cheryl Ladd.  Being compared to a woman who was 30 when I was 17 was not something I considered a compliment.  He would call me "Cheryl" just to torment me!  This was during the Charlie's Angels heyday of the late 70s.  I couldn't see it back then.  Looking at our pictures from that time, well there are a few similarities.  Blue eyes, blonde hair, and 70s "wings."

Here we are 35 years later...

Who do people say you look like? Do you believe them?

MidWeek Photo Dump

Hanging out with Levi Bentz before church prayer on Saturday

Les preaching Sunday night at NLP.

A couple of visitors yesterday morning.

The fanciest Walgreens I have ever seen!

Pastor McGriffin taught last night's Bible study.  It was the first time he had taught since February (7 weeks!)  We are so thankful for God's touch on him and are still praying for complete healing.

A couple shots from this morning's walk.

Christmas Pictures

I think I overloaded Blogger on my previous post.  I don't know why all the collages won't enlarge.  I created a SmugMug gallery - here.  There are also some videos that Les took with his iPhone - the Koko Head one is amazing!  I make an appearance and wave like a typical tourist.  I narrowed it down to about 75 from our original 300+!

Making Memories

I've been taking a lot of pictures lately and decided to try my hand at making collages to take up less space.

The past few weeks have been so busy!   We fly back home on Thursday after being gone for about a month.  Here's a little bit of what we've been doing lately...

The Hicks family is being transferred to Washington state.  They were so good to us when we first came to Hawaii.  Many times they gave us rides to and from church.  They loaned us their car for a week until we bought ours.  We could never repay their kindness, but we wanted to treat them to dinner before they moved on...

We went to a church picnic on the Fourth of July...

As is tradition, Les rode his bike to the picnic.  There was lots of good food, fun and fellowship...

Les and I spent some time on the North Shore...

We had lunch at Cholo's in Hale'iwa, followed by shave ice...

You need to see the size of that shave ice. We split the small - $2.75 with ice cream on the bottom.  We'd never tried ice cream in our shave ice.  It was SO good!

Sunday was full, I played the piano and led the music for the entire service.  I was SO nervous, but God moved and blessed our efforts!  Pastor McGriffin and several others are going to the Philippines in a few weeks, so I'll be filling in then.  This was a chance for me to get a little extra practice time with the praise team.  They did a great job when I sang a song we hadn't even practiced!!!

Sis. Hicks had an appointment today, so Robyn and Tyser spent a few hours with me.  This included lunch at McDonald's, exploring our condo, and some hair brushing...

And now I'm caught up!
