Leaving Sicily and The Celtic Tenors (Day 5 - Sicily, Part 2)

We were a couple of grubby cyclists when we returned to the ship from our mountain bike adventure.  We were scheduled to be back at the ship at 6:00 p.m. and the cruise planner wouldn't let me make a dinner reservation for the first seating.  We knew canoli wouldn't hold us until 8:00, so we ate in the Windjammer Cafe that night.  Our Cruise Compass was waiting in the room for us with our towel animal:

The entertainment listed for the night was Production Showtime in the Coral Theater.  We decided to go check it out.  You never know with these shows and we were prepared to leave if we needed to.  Our cruise director, Dennis, came on the stage to let us know there had been a change of plans.  Evidently the "brain" of the theater had died.  This controls not only the sound, but the lights, curtains, and some of the moving sets.  A new one was being sent (for $14,000!) but they thought it would be a couple of days before everything was ready to go.  So there was a change in the entertainment to the Celtic Tenors.

We had never heard of them and didn't know what to expect, but they were amazing!  Three incredible voices belting out a great variety of songs with fabulous harmony.  They were also funny and interacted well with the audience.  The Jewel of the Seas Orchestra played for them.  They had never played for the trio before, but you would have never known.  It was one of the best shows of the cruise.

When we got back to our room we could see a glow on Mount Etna!  It was continuing to erupt and we were content in our room, looking forward to a relaxing day at sea on day 6.
