Last Friday Les and made a trip to the LA Garment District to pick up some fabric. ($2.00 a yard!) While we were down there, we decided to have lunch at the Original Pantry Cafe.
This Los Angeles icon opened its doors in 1924 and has stayed open 24-7 every day since. The restaurant moved one time in 1950, serving lunch in the old location and dinner in the new!
This is a slice of Americana with the boast "Never Closed. Never Without a Customer." It was definitely bustling while we were there.
After we were seated, our server came to take our order. "We didn't get a menu," I said. "It's behind you..." he replied!
The "menu" was posted on many of the walls - I guess that's a great way to save on printing costs! We both had the Turkey Croissant and shared some custard for dessert. Very tasty!
It's worth a visit if you're ever in the area.
