My Bible reading today included Philippians chapter 4. I consider verse 8 the "Thought Test."
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Another way to look at it is to turn it around:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are untrue, whatsoever things are dishonest, whatsoever things are unjust, whatsoever
things are impure, whatsoever things are ugly, whatsoever things are of
bad report; if there is no virtue, and if there is no praise, QUIT THINKING ABOUT THESE THINGS!!
