A sad thought hit me last night. I can't remember anything special about Christmas 1997. That was Mom's last Christmas. She'd been fighting cancer since 1990 and some years she even seemed to be winning. I remember the sadness of Christmas 1998, but I am sure Mom made Christmas 1997 very special. I just didn't take the time to cherish it at the time.

If you knew this was your last Christmas with a family member, would you treat them differently? Would you be kinder and gentler? Would you be extravagant with your gifts, but more importantly with your love?

Since we rarely know these things, how about making this the year that you DO love extravagantly? Say the things that are in your heart. Write a card to those you won't be with. Actually, don't wait until Christmas - show your love year round!
